From today,
count your blessings for you are able to live a day longer than someone else.
count your blessing for you are able to read and write and be educated.
count your blessings for you live in a peaceful country like Singapore.
count your blessings for you never go hungry.
count your blessings for you can drink coca-cola without worries whereas someone else is not even able to have a sip of water.
Recently, the going has gotten tough. Tests, countless and never ending projects, Gpp, datelines to meet, daily homework to catch up, SPA, common test. What more. Blogs filled with complaints of school work, not being able to reach targets.
But stop.
Recently, mummy was involved in this so called 'fund raising' for a girl called Joan Chan, who is stricken with tongue cancer (reported in Sunday Times, Lifestyle section a few weeks ago.) She's only 19, not much older than all of us.
Thinking of her and comparing us, I feel so much blessed. To be able to be healthy and to be able to do so many things. To be able to enjoy life.
Sometimes we always think of ourselves being in the worst situation possible, forgetting that there may be others who may be worse off than us. Despite their situation, they are stronger and more positive than us. And I feel guilty.
The human race is selfish. We always think of ourselves before others.
Count your blessings from this point onwards and live life to the fullest.
